The base game in landscape, with sound.

I handled the game's art direction and complete visual redesign, including the environments, symbols, logo, UI and all game screens. I also created the symbol animations, prepared the development specifications, and directed the visual effects through to their final implementation.

I wanted to create something more mystical than a typical frozen world. I imagined what an ancient Egyptian paradise might look like, a sacred, dreamlike world frozen in time. That vision guided the entire art direction, from the soft, glowing atmosphere to the icy blue palette, creating a sense of magic and wonder rather than simply cold.

The low symbols stay muted and minimal, allowing the higher-value symbols to stand out through distinct colours and mystical details inspired by ancient Egyptian mythology. The goal was to keep the board easy to read while giving each symbol its own identity within the frozen world.
I wanted the entry screen to feel like a first glimpse into the frozen world, almost like approaching the gates of an ancient Egyptian paradise. The idea was to create a sense of mystery and anticipation, drawing players into the atmosphere before the first spin.

I wanted the anticipation to build excitement through the game's frozen atmosphere, using a swirling windstorm effect to bring a sense of icy tension to the reels.
For the winning animations, I wanted the cold itself to create the impact. A freezing wave spreads from the centre of the board, turning the winning symbols into ice before they shatter, making each win feel more satisfying and connected to the game's theme.
I wanted the Long Wild to capture the game's dark humour. As it moves across the board during Free Spins, a burst of freezing air catches Anubis off guard, transforming him from a powerful Egyptian god into a terrified, frozen version of himself. His exaggerated reaction, paired with a startled scream, turns the feature into a playful expression of the game's personality.

A win: freeze, then shatter.
The Long Wild landing.
I wanted Free Spins to feel noticeably colder than the base game, transforming the mystical Egyptian setting into a world completely covered in ice. The Long Wild stays on the board throughout the round, with powerful gusts of freezing wind carrying him from reel to reel, making the movement feel like a natural part of the frozen world.

The sound design blends traditional Egyptian and Middle Eastern instruments with a more modern, playful energy. I wanted the music to feel rooted in ancient Egypt without sounding old-fashioned, while icy winds, freezing effects and mysterious sounds bring the frozen world to life.
One sequence that escalates with the win. Anubis loses control of his own freezing powers, and the bigger the win, the worse it gets for him: arms crossed and refusing to admit he’s cold, then shivering, then freezing over, until he is sealed in a block of ice. The light falls from warm gold to deep blue as it goes.
