I handled the game's concept, art direction and full visual design, including the characters, environments, symbols, logo, UI and jackpot interface. I also created the sound design, prepared the development specifications, and rigged and animated the sheriff and all four mounts in Spine.

Inspired by the playful underwater world of SpongeBob SquarePants, I wanted to take an entire Wild West town and simply sink it beneath the ocean. The idea was to reimagine a classic cowboy town with sea creatures taking on its familiar roles and personalities. Pixel art felt like a natural fit for this quirky world, bringing a nostalgic, retro-game charm that complements its playful atmosphere.
Sheriff Catfish is the game's Wild symbol and main character. I wanted him to feel like a proper Wild West badass, with a tough, permanently unimpressed attitude and a little cartoon exaggeration. His personality carries through the game, from his signature look to the way he rides, draws and fires his gun.

I kept the low symbols simple and muted, using a shared sandy palette so they wouldn't compete with the more important symbols. For the higher-value characters, I focused on giving each one a distinct personality, silhouette and colour palette. I wanted them to feel like actual residents of this strange little town, with enough character to carry their roles beyond the reels and into the Big Win shootout.
The sheriff takes centre stage as the Wild, designed to feel more powerful and prominent than the regular symbols. His gold star badge becomes the Hold & Win symbol, tying the bonus mechanic directly to the game's main character and western theme.

The base game, live: the game’s own light, fish and bubble layers in motion over the canyon.

The bonus: the same spot, lit in neon.
I wanted the bonus game to feel completely different from the base game. Inspired by the neon signs of old western bars, I transformed the quiet, muted town into a vibrant nighttime scene, using bold pinks and purples to make the transition feel exciting and unmistakable.
The entry screen offers a first glimpse into the underwater western world. Inspired by the iconic bubble transitions in SpongeBob SquarePants, I used a wave of bubbles to reveal the game board, creating a playful transition that feels like a natural part of the underwater setting.

The three respins are the bullets in the sheriff’s revolver, in the corner of the screen. The cylinder turns a chamber with every spin and spins back to reload whenever a new badge lands.
Rare badges carry MINI, MAJOR, MEGA or GRAND instead of a cash value. The four jackpots stay above the board for the whole game.

I wanted the return to the base game to feel like a clear transition rather than an abrupt switch. A dedicated reward screen gives the bonus its own closing moment before bringing the player back to the main game.

I built and animated the sheriff and his four mounts in Spine, using each animal to reflect a different level of excitement as the wins grow. From slower, gentler rides to faster, more powerful creatures, the changes in speed, size and personality make the player's progression feel increasingly rewarding.
The game’s own rig, playing live in your browser. Pick an animal and he stays in the saddle until you choose another; once he’s mounted, DRAW & FIRE makes him shoot.
I wanted the Big Win to feel like a playful shootout between the town's characters, staged around a growing pile of gold. The animation leans into a deliberately choppy pixel-art feel, giving it a retro, game-like energy. As the win grows, more characters join the standoff, the pile of money gets bigger, and the whole scene becomes more intense and exciting.
